COOK TIME
10 Min

We made this Okra Sauté simple as can be for you! Slices of frozen okra are sautéed in canola oil then sprinkled with cornmeal and basil for a healthy side dish that tastes anything but simple.

What You'll Need

  • 2 cups frozen sliced okra
  • 1/2 teaspoon canola oil
  • 2 teaspoons cornmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil

What to Do

  1. In a medium nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook frozen okra 2 to 3 minutes, covered, or until ice melts. Uncover and cook until okra breaks apart, stirring constantly.

  2. Add oil; cook until okra browns lightly and is tender, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with cornmeal and basil and stir about 1 minute to mix well.
