I really like several of the Amish recipes that I have previously tried. I find that they do not add as much sugar, and the sweetness level is just fine for me. I do not like Horseradish does anyone know if I eliminate the Horseradish in this recipe, how much will it alter the flavor? In addition, should I eliminate the Splenda if I remove the Horseradish?

Hello! It will change the flavor if you eliminate the horseradish, as it will take away the "kick" or heat. But, it will still taste good! If you like a sweet-tasting coleslaw, then you can leave the sugar in, whether or not you add the horseradish. Enjoy!

Splenda is an artificial sweetener processed with chlorine. I would use real sugar.

Facts Chlorine is a naturally-occurring chemical element, one of the basic building blocks of matter. The most common natural chlorine compound on Earth is sodium chloride or table salt. Chlorine is a natural component of salt found in many foods, such as lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms and peanut butter. Chlorine is also part of more complex molecules naturally found in other foods such as lentils, peas, and potatoes. Chlorine is added to most public drinking water supplies.
